What a beautiful mix of looks- this is the Fall inspo I needed!
Unrelated….but your skin looks so dewy and bright and gorgeous- I have enjoyed you sharing your skincare regimen with us and it absolutely is working 🥰
When it comes to skincare, that’s such a great compliment—it's been quite a journey! I recently added Vintner’s Daughter's Essence to my routine, and April mentioned that it also exfoliates. Since I deal with ingrown hairs, she suggested it would be especially helpful for me. I’ve only been using it for a few days, but I’m really liking it so far. It does have a scent that reminds me a bit of apple cider vinegar, which I know isn’t for everyone, but I don’t mind it!
What a fabulous post, Jalil.💕 I LOVE your style (that suit, I swoon!), how you put all these beautiful pieces together. I love that your clothes feel like you’ve accumulated them over years, and are old friends.
“What if the wrong thing is actually the right thing to do?”
This entire paragraph resonated with me. Your bold approach is inspiring. I would love to hear more about dressing as a man but wearing feminine pieces.
Thank you so much! I just did another photoshoot in that amazing Tory Burch suit, and I can't wait to share the images with you. I honestly see my clothes as old friends, which probably explains why it's so hard to part with them, haha! Do you have any specific questions about my experience identifying as a man while wearing more traditionally feminine pieces? I’m giving you a bit of a sneak peek for next Sunday's post, which will focus heavily on the concept of gender. Your questions could really help shape that post! I'll also be linking back to my post with Leandra, where I touched on experimenting with gender expression.
Oh, thank you for the link to that article. What an excellent read.
I think a lot of people, men and women, are afraid to dress out of style norms because people will say something negative to them. Do you experience this? I, myself, also dress outside the norm and surprisingly, get very few comments. I wonder if it’s different for you,? or what your experience is as male presenting, but wearing feminine clothing.
Thank you for the substantive response, Jalil. You’re an icon!💕
"To be honest, I’ve always been somewhat hesitant to fully dive into menswear—perhaps because, subconsciously, I felt that embracing it would be fulfilling the expectations my family had for me, and in some ways, probably still do." Love this, and you.
